                                                                          Old style equipment, common to the industry, does not exist at Lion's plant in Selma, California. Our custom equipment has been designed to protect the raisin skin from damage. This eliminates the potential for sticky raisins and provides a more free flowing product overall.           
           

The new plant is equipped with vacuums and super vacuums, plus powerful inline magnets and metal detectors at various points within the intricate cleaning process. In addition, two in line Elbiscan Lasers and one Key Technology Laser Sorter ensure the specification and quality of every production run by reviewing the finished product for final defects before going into the case. Lion Raisins is the only processor with this level of final review so that virtually nothing but whole raisins go into the case.
