Pristine Processing Plant
Routine hygiene and site audits are conducted daily. Production areas are inspected every morning before the start of production by Lion Quality Assurance, Lion Sanitation and the U.S.D.A.. Any deficiencies in sanitation of production areas are resolved before the start up of production.  
 

Receiving areas are inspected daily by Lion Quality Assurance staff.  The facilities are also inspected by the Dried Fruit Association (DFA) and the American Institute of Baking (AIB) as well as private sanitation audits from customers. Lion Raisins continually receives excellent scores.

                                                                                  Each Lion Raisins employee is informed in writing, at the time of hire, about company policies. Good manufacturing programs as well as our Health and Safety policies serve to maintain Lion Raisins' high ratings with the DFA and the AIB and to ensure the product quality so highly regarded by our customers.     

Cleaning Schedules and Records

In addition to the master cleaning schedule, other cleaning projects may be assigned to the janitorial staff on a daily basis. The Sanitation crew has a standard routine for the end of the production day. Additional projects are assigned by Lion QA as deemed necessary. All records are kept on file by the Quality Assurance department.

Pest Control

Lion is serviced by an outside pest control company as well as its program being monitored and maintained by Lion QA staff. The contracted pest control company maintains bait stations and provides frequent checks to the site. Applications of any chemicals are done on an "as needed" basis with strict supervision. All other pest control checks are monitored on a regular basis by Lion QA staff, in accordance with the pest control program. Fumigation treatments are administered on an "as needed" basis. All records are maintained by the Lion Quality Assurance department.
