Washing & Cleaning
Lion raisins undergo more than 30 processing steps. Our high pressure rinses, vacuums, wash tanks, riffles and re-rinse cycles make certain that rocks, dirt and sand, and organic matter are removed.
Grading screen decks refine and group the sizes of raisins per customer specifications. This step also provides for removal of undesirable organic matter.  De-stemming equipment, called "cappers" remove stems from the individual raisins.
Other vacuuming steps in the process remove organic material and anything undesirable to the high grade finished product.
Along the way, powerful magnets and strategically located metal detectors extract any ferrous or non-ferrous metals that might be in the product ensuring that only clean, delicious raisin go into the box.
